Déclaration du groupe concernant la décision de la Cour d'appel de Paris sur Lafarge SA - 18 mai 2022

Nous sommes en profond désaccord avec la décision de la Cour d'appel de confirmer la mise en examen de Lafarge SA pour complicité de crimes contre l'humanité.
Il est important de rappeler qu’il s’agit d’une décision portant sur la mise en examen de Lafarge SA et non pas sur le fond de l’affaire. Nous sommes convaincus que ce chef de mise en examen doit être écarté. Lafarge SA formera donc un pourvoi devant la Cour de Cassation.
Nous souhaitons également rappeler que la conduite qui aurait été celle de Lafarge SA est en totale contradiction avec les valeurs que nous portons. Ces événements ont été cachés à nos instances dirigeantes lors de la fusion en 2015.
Lafarge SA va bien entendu continuer de coopérer pleinement avec les autorités françaises.


Group statement following Paris Court of Appeal's decision of Lafarge SA- 18 mai 2022

We strongly disagree with the Court of Appeal’s decision to retain complicity in crimes against humanity within the scope of the investigation of Lafarge SA.
It is important to note that this decision is not a ruling on the merits of the case. It is about determining the scope of the charges under investigation. We firmly believe that this charge should not be held against Lafarge SA, which will appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
We reiterate that the alleged conduct at Lafarge SA is in stark contrast with everything that the Group stands for as a company. The events concerning Lafarge SA were concealed from our Board at the time of the merger in 2015 and go completely against our values. Lafarge SA continues to cooperate fully with the French authorities in their investigation into the alleged conduct.
